Loreto Primary School Dalkey is continuing its long-standing commitment to caring for the environment and promoting active, responsible citizenship through the Green Schools programme. The school has already earned eight Green Flags and is now focusing on the theme of Global Citizenship and Travel, while also maintaining work on all previous themes.
Our Green Flags and themes
Over the years, the school community has worked together to earn eight Green Flags, reflecting sustained effort across a wide range of environmental themes. As part of the Green Schools process, classes continue to revisit and build on earlier themes while progressing with the current one.

Green Committee and whole-school involvement
The Green Committee plays a central role in driving this work, ensuring that pupils have a real voice in environmental decision-making in the school. Parents and staff also contribute actively, making Green Schools a genuine whole-school and community effort.
Working with Dalkey Tidy Towns and the local community
Loreto Primary School Dalkey works closely with Dalkey Tidy Towns to help keep the local area clean and attractive for everyone. Pupils see that their efforts in school connect directly with the wider community.

The current focus for our Green Schools Committee is Global Citizenship and Travel, encouraging pupils to think about how their travel choices affect both the local area and the wider world. Click the image to find out how we are working towards our next Green Flag!
